Butwell to replace outgoing O’Dwyer at Standard Life
Mr Butwell, who was formerly SLA’s managing director of distribution, will be responsible for SLA’s platforms, advice and savings division. This includes the wrap and elevate platforms and the restricted advice group 1825.
Mr O’Dwyer, whose appointment as CEO of Royal London was predicted by Daily Business in March, will take up his new role in September.
Mr Butwell said in a statement: ‘I have worked for SLA for 16 years and throughout this time my primary focus has been building enduring relationships with financial advisers as we work together to meet the needs of their clients.
‘Standard Life is at the forefront of helping the UK population achieve their financial goals and through continuing to invest in the business we will build on the excellent propositions, products and services we offer.’
Mr Butwell will be reporting into SLA’s vice chairman Martin Gilbert.
