Housing land released; affordable homes planned
The site is owned by Junction 29 (Scotland), operated by the same management team behind the proposed Personal Rapid Transit (PRT) system from a relocated Paisley St James station. It is similar to the system in use at Heathrow Terminal 5 and is being considered by Glasgow City Council.
The 17.6 acre block of land is situated on the south side of the M8/St James Interchange and forms part of a larger 40-acre, mixed use site with consent for a hotel, a pub/restaurant, business or industrial use, and car parking.
Affordable homes plan
Swan Group, which specialises in the development and delivery of affordable housing, has completed the purchase of the former Wise Group site on Edinburgh Road, Glasgow. The site is about nine acres and a planning consent is currently being submitted with a proposed development of around 150 affordable homes.
Phil McGinlay, managing director of Swan Group, said: “Swan Group is proud to be part of the wide-ranging regeneration projects currently being undertaken in this part of the city.”
