Binnie leaves Standard Life Aberdeen to join Tilney

Ronnie BinnieWealth management group Tilney has hired Ronnie Binnie from Standard Life Aberdeen as managing partner in Edinburgh and Aberdeen as its expansion in Scotland continues.

The firm has moved its Edinburgh office from Melville Street to Atria 2 in the Exchange District which is 20% larger, allowing for additions to the current complement of 43 staff.

Tilney, which manages more than £24 billion of assets for private clients and charities, is one of the largest wealth managers in Scotland and one of a handful of firms with an office presence Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen.

Mr Binnie has spent the last 27 years of his career at Standard Life Aberdeen. He was latterly as head of business development at Aberdeen Standard Capital, the group’s discretionary management division.

In his new role he will have overall responsibility for the east of Scotland business and will report to Paul Frame, head of Scotland and Northern Ireland.
