Private client law firm, Turcan Connell, has appointed its first two legal directors, Jenny Younger and Kenneth Pinkerton, and announced the promotion of other members of staff.
Following last month’s announcement of the firm’s new managing partner, Gillian Crandles, and new partners, Graeme Gass and Alistair Rushworth, the latest senior roles will have client-facing responsibility as well as leading on some key internally-focused matters.
Commenting on the new positions, chairman, Simon Mackintosh, said: “As legal directors they will have particular responsibility for our relationships with a number of clients, as well as a management role, and will apply their specialist professional skills widely across our tax and succession and charity teams.”
Mr Pinkerton specialises in the fields of charity law, tax and estate planning for private clients, trusts and executries. Ms Younger works principally in the areas of trusts, asset protection and succession planning.
The firm has also announced the following internal promotions: Heather Bruce, Paul Forrester Smith, Rona Macdonald, Mark McKeown and Neil Wilson, who become senior associates; Jennifer Macdonald and Debbie McIlwraith Cameron, promoted to associate; Catherine Guthrie, Hannah Starritt, Amy Stevenson and Riikka Wilkinson who are now senior solicitors.
Within the tax compliance team, Scott Webster is now a tax manager and Amy Barrows a senior tax assistant, and in business support, Faye Cooke becomes knowledge manager, Clare Hedges, HR consultant, Laura Gibb, assistant billing manager and Holly Williamson, office services team leader.
