Further details have emerged around plans to turn the former McLellan Galleries in Glasgow’s Sauchiehall Street into one of the city’s most contemporary, creative workspaces.
Bywater Properties, developers of the McLellan Works project, want to ‘curate’ a selection of Scotland’s innovative businesses, independent retailers, food traders and wellness practitioners.
Theo Michell, principal at Bywater Properties, said: “While primarily workspace-led, McLellan Works will connect, support and promote Glasgow’s world renowned creativity and culture; we plan to build a creative working environment that benefits both the surrounding community and the city as a whole.”
McLellan Works is at the heart of Glasgow City Council’s “Avenues Project” programme, which aims to make the city centre more accessible.
Glasgow-based architecture firm Stallan-Brand and design consultancy Graphical House are helping showcase the opportunities for businesses which want to be part of the facility.
