In position for further expansion
LAW at Work strengthens health and safety team
Sarah Liversidge, who spent eight years as HM inspector of health and safety with the Health and Safety Executive, has been appointed to the new role of health and safety manager in LAW’s Aberdeen office.
Ms Liversidge’s remit is to grow the health and safety offering across north Scotland.
In total, LAW witnessed a 40% rise in health and safety work across the business over the past year. This was due to a number of new client wins, including: Duncan and Todd, the eyecare and hearing care specialist and Glasgow Distillery, to add to existing contracts including the Aberdeen-based The Chester Hotel.
Increased emphasis on mental health well-being within the workplace and continuing questions over health and safety legislation have delivered a growing demand for external support. As have the ongoing investigations surrounding Grenfell, which have also resulted in numerous sectors looking for more support for fire risk assessment and general fire prevention support.
Douglas Cameron, head of safety support services, LAW, adds: “We are experiencing concerted growth in this area of the business, particularly across the North East, and Sarah’s appointment puts us in a great position for further expansion.”
