Construction site workers and nearby office staff were evacuated after ammunition was found on the St James building site in Edinburgh.

Police and a bomb disposal unit were called at about 1.40pm and sealed off an area at the Elder Street end of upmarket Multrees Walk. Office staff in the area were told to leave their desks by 3.30pm and bus services were subject to change.

The ammunition was found to be historical, and the area remained restricted while the incident was under way.

The £850m shopping, leisure and residential project is due for completion by 2020.
