Johnston Carmichael partner joins charity panel
The Institute of Chartered Accountants has appointed a partner from Johnston Carmichael to its charities panel.
Scott Jeffrey (pictured), an audit partner based at the firm’s Inverness office, has been appointed onto the sector panel, which is responsible for representing ICAS on matters impacting the UK’s charity sector.
It provides guidance to members who work for, advise and assist charities, and charities themselves, offering support on accountancy and related matters.
Mr Jeffrey, who develops and presents Johnston Carmichael’s third sector training and development programme, said: “Having worked with charities for over 15 years, I look forward to sharing my experiences and knowledge, and supporting the panel to deliver advice to others working in the third sector.
“The panel is represented by a broad cross section of professionals, including accountants, lawyers, directors and academics, offering latest guidance and information to charities, trustees, and other ICAS members who work closely with charities.”
The ICAS charities panel provide articles and technical guidance to the sector – along with an annual update course – to equip advisers with information about developments impacting on Scottish charities.
Johnston Carmichael continues to bolster its growing third sector specialist team. Recently, the firm appointed Keith MacPherson as audit director in the Glasgow office.
