E-cigarette firm Vaporized planning 200 store expansion
Millions of smokers are switching to e-cigarettes
Vaporized, the Edinburgh-based e-cigarette company, is planning 200 new stores across the UK in the next three years, doubling staff numbers to 1,000 to support the strategy.
The investment coincides with figures revealing that almost three million people are now using vaping as an alternative to tobacco smoking in the UK.
Cancer Research UK estimates that there are currently 9.4million smokers in the UK who can potentially switch to vaping.
Doug Mutter, director at Vaporized, said: “With increasing numbers of smokers recognising the lifestyle benefits of switching to vaping, we are well positioned to meet this growing demand.”
He is calling on the government to remove the vaping industry from the existing tobacco laws.
“We are calling for new regulations that will allow smokers to make informed decisions about vaping. The current advertising restrictions are stopping smokers from fully understanding the benefits of vaping,” he said.
