The chief executive of water retailer Business Stream, has joined Business in the Community (BITC) Scotland’s advisory board in the latest round of the charity’s board appointments.
Ten members were invited to join the board in September, including Jo Dow (pictured) who brings with her experience of taking Business Stream into the English water market in 2017 and maintaining the company’s position in retail water and waste water services in Scotland.
Speaking after her appointment, Ms Dow said: “The charity has shown a long-standing commitment to supporting local businesses and communities and I’m looking forward to playing my part in helping BITC achieve its goals.”
The role of the advisory board is to support the strategic direction of BITC Scotland, as well as help the organisation achieve its key business objectives.
The key focus areas for the charity in Scotland are fostering inclusive growth through building better workforces; widening access to lifelong learning and skills training; encouraging sustainable economic development; enabling businesses to work together to regenerate local places; and helping businesses measure their social, environmental impact.
