Property team makes switch
Savills plunders Montagu Evans for top trio
Three of Scotland’s most experienced property agents have switched from Montagu Evans to Savills.
Mike Irvine and Hugh Rutherford join as directors in the firm’s Edinburgh office, while Colin McGhee becomes an associate director in Glasgow.
With 22 years’ experience in the property sector, Mr Irvine was a partner at Montagu Evans specialising in office agency and development. Mr Rutherford, also previously a partner, will continue to focus on office agency, development and occupier services. He has spent 36 years working in the business space sector.
They have been involved in some of Edinburgh’s most significant office developments in recent years, including Quartermile and New Waverley. At Savills, amongst other instructions, they will be working with M&G/ Qmile Group on the delivery of 350,000 sq ft of Grade A offices at Haymarket.
Mr McGhee has seven years’ property experience in Glasgow advising landlords, occupiers and developers. At Savills he will be working on some of key office schemes in the city including the 94,000 sq ft Fore Partnership’s Cadworks, the city’s first speculative development in recent years, and 285,000 sq ft of grade A offices at One Central on behalf of Vanguard Real Estate.
