Dragon-backed hire firm opens London office

Andrew WelshMeraki Talent, the Scottish recruitment agency backed by former Dragons’ Den panelist James Caan, has opened an office in London.

Founded in January 2015 by Andrew Welsh (pictured) and Laura Drysdale, Meraki Talent has grown to a team of 23 operating in Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Mr Welsh, said: “Opening a London office is the next logical step for our business. Most of our clients have a presence in the square mile and in 2017 we derived 18% of our financial services revenue from the City.”

Leading the new office set-up is Nathan MacFie, senior manager for the investment management & asset servicing business who is relocating from Edinburgh.

Mr Caan said: “From day one I knew Andrew and Laura had the skills to scale. They are an incredible example of how to build a robust business.

“I’m proud of their achievements and look forward to future announcements that further demonstrate their capability to succeed and grow.”
