Brightsolid CEO Van Der Berg leaves after six months
Elaine Van Der Berg filled a role left vacant at the DC Thomson-owned firm since last June following the departure of Richard Higgs.
However, the company has confirmed that its Grangemouth-born CEO has left. Chairman Ellis Watson said: “It is with regret that I can confirm Elaine Van Der Berg has left her position as CEO of Brightsolid.”
Her appointment, announced last November, was heralded as part of the “next exciting phase with the appointment of such an experienced leader”.
She features in a double-page spread in the current issue of a business magazine in which she says she had found “the perfect role in Scotland as CEO of Brightsolid”.
Van Der Berg came with a wealth of experience in senior leadership positions spanning Europe, Asia Pacific and Australia and more than 20 years of experience in the IT sector.
She arrived at Brightsolid from her role as managing director of Edinburgh-based G2G3, part of outsourcing specialist Capita.
Mr Watson added: “In just six months, Elaine has made significant progress in building our business plan to allow us to optimise and diversify the Brightsolid business, ensuring we remain a centre of excellence for cloud services in Scotland, providing the best possible services to our clients.
“Until we recruit a new CEO, the business is in the experienced and capable hands of our senior management team.
“We’d like to thank Elaine for her passion, vision and energy, and wish her well in her next venture.”
