Architecture firm takes castle view offices

HMVAn architectural practice has taken space overlooking Edinburgh Castle to accommodate growth of the business.

Hong Kong based 10 Design will move from current premises in Hunter Square to 132 Princes Street, in offices above Sports Direct, formerly a HMV record store (pictured).

The company has taken 5,000 sq ft, two and half times its existing space, on a ten year lease.

Owner Hazledene House undertook a substantial transformation over three floors of the Category B listed building. The letting agent was JLL. Considerable effort has been put into exposing and retaining some of the character of its former uses which also includes a theatre, cinema and a tea room.

Geoff Scott, associate director at JLL, said: “We are delighted to have secured 10 Design as a tenant who will be an excellent addition to the building.

“132 Princes Street offers a de-furbished finish to meet modern demand for engaging, thought provoking places to work.”
