Tie-ups to boost sport
‘Tinder for Sports’ ties up partnerships
Nine sports governing bodies are teaming up with Find a Player and Young Scot to grow participation and improve access to sport for young people in Scotland.
Described as the “Tinder for sports”, Find a Player was launched by Jim Law as a multi platform app designed to take the pain out of organising and finding players for sports, games and events.
Representatives of a range of sports including badminton, basketball, bowls, cricket and hockey are launching the tie-up today.
Find a Player recently secured a £100,000 investment from Manchester-based property and technology investor Michael Sacks to scale up the company.
The investment from Mr Sacks equates to a 4% stake valuing the company at £2.5million.
Find a Player recently beat a number of global brands including Arsenal, the New York Marathon and the German FA to win the ‘Best App’ award at the Sport Technology Awards.
Mr Laws said: “We want to be the next Skycanner of FanDuel.”
