GHA picks up three prizes in Home Awards

Glasgow Housing Association was among the night’s big winners at the Scottish Home Awards after picking up three prizes.

GHA was outright winner in two of the 18 categories and was highly commended in  a third.

The 11th annual event at the Corn Exchange, Edinburgh was attended by 600 guests, making it the biggest so far. A record 68 housebuilding companies entered.

Avant Homes collected the most prestigious award, Large Housebuilder of the Year, delivering exceptional growth and a large portfolio of properties. This year, it announced plans to double the number of homes it builds by 2023. Avant Homes was also a finalist in a further six categories.

Wemyss Properties was crowned Small Housebuilder of the year and was also highly commended in Apartment of the Year Award for its residential development, Newbattle Terrace in Morningside and highly commended in the Customer Service Excellence Award.

Heritage Developer, City & Country was victorious in both the Apartment Development of the Year and the Renovation of the Year (Multiple Dwellings) for the company’s renovation of the former children’s hospital and school, The Playfair at Donaldson’s in Edinburgh, turning the grand structure into residential luxury apartments.
