War Horse, the powerful story of a young boy and his beloved horse Joey, returns to Edinburgh as part of a national tour.
Based on the novel by Michael Morpurgo, the production at the Festival Theatre runs from 18 April to 12 May, featuring Thomas Dennis as the boy Albert.
It is a story of courage, loyalty and friendship, with Joey brought to life on stage through the remarkable puppetry work of South Africa’s Handspring Puppet Company.
War Horse is adapted by Nick Stafford and directed by Marianne Elliott and Tom Morris.
Kash Bennett, producer, said: “We are absolutely delighted to be bringing War Horse back to Edinburgh after the sell-out success of our first visit in 2014.”
War Horse ran for eight years in London and has been seen by more than seven million people worldwide. It has won 25 awards, including the Tony Award for Best Play on Broadway.
