Pair join Savills Scotland development team
Savills Scotland has bolstered its development team with two key appointments which reflect the growth of some fast-expanding sectors: residential investment and the private rented sector, together with Strategic Land.
George Hepburn Scott (pictured left) has joined as a director to advise on residential investment and PRS transactions across Scotland. He worked within Savills Development in Scotland until 2010, before joining the company’s Residential Capital Markets team in London advising on the disposal, acquisition and valuation of residential investment blocks and portfolios across the UK.
Richard Thompson (pictured right) joins as a director from Savills rural, energy and projects division where he accumulated 30 years’ experience, with a focus on development opportunities, and he leads Savills Strategic Land Targeting group in Scotland.
Ben Brough, Savills head of residential development in Scotland “The Scottish development market is vibrant, diverse and growing. Edinburgh is rapidly expanding on a number of fronts: from the gentrification of the East End to residential developments that are pushing the current city limits outwards.
“Meanwhile Glasgow is seeing an incredible resurgence with national and international interest across a wide spectrum of development opportunities, from purely residential, to mixed-use and a growing number have a PRS element.”
