Euro Garages snaps up Scots sites

Euro GaragesForecourt retailer Euro Garages has almost doubled the size of its Scottish portfolio by acquiring six sites north of the border.

The deals take Euro Garages’ fuel and roadside retail property portfolio in Scotland to 14 with new locations in Edinburgh, Fife, Peterhead, Forfar, Paisley and at Heartlands Business Park at the new junction 4A on the M8.

In addition to the Scottish deals, Euro Garages has acquired an 11-acre site on the A1 at the Morpeth Interchange in Northumberland.

Sweco relocates

Engineering, environment and design consultancy Sweco has relocated to Fountainbridge in Edinburgh to support a pipeline of new projects in Scotland.

The business, which currently employs 165 people in the city has taken a 14,000 sq ft office with the capacity to increase the number of staff employed in Edinburgh to nearly 200.

Sweco was recently appointed to lead the £113 million Cross Tay Link Road project on the outskirts of Perth, and continues to deliver multi-disciplinary work for the new 1.7 million sq ft Edinburgh St James development. The business is also handling the route option development work for the upgrade of the A96 between Hardmuir and Fochabers.
