Successor for Macmillan

Kennedy takes over as MacRoberts managing partner

Neil Kennedy: ‘dynamic and focused’

MacRoberts, the independent law firm, has announced that corporate partner Neil Kennedy (pictured) will succeed John Macmillan as managing partner from 1 May.

The Aberdeen University graduate has been with MacRoberts for 19 years and a partner for 10 of those years. Mr Kennedy has experience in corporate and commercial law and is a lead adviser to a number of top SME businesses in Scotland.

Mr Macmillan steps down from the role after his second term as managing partner for MacRoberts and will continue as an employment partner for the firm.

The handover process between the pair has been in the planning for over four months so a smooth changeover is ensured.

Mr Macmillan said: “Neil Kennedy will be a very fine successor. He has all the right attitude, client and staff focus and MacRoberts’ ethos.

“Having been in the MP role for more than eleven of the last twenty years and all of the last three and half, I was sure it was time to hand the role on to a more dynamic and focused individual.”
