Signature buys seven outlets

Wood brothers in pub acquisition deal

Signature Pub Group boss Nic Wood has acquired seven outlets from the Speratus Group run by his brother Garreth.

The deal will see Signature take on The Auld Hundred in Edinburgh; Nox and Paramount in Aberdeen and The Boozy Cows in Edinburgh, Dundee, Stirling and Aberdeen.

Founded in 2003, Signature will add these units to its portfolio of 14 pubs, hotels and restaurants across Scotland.

The business has grown rapidly over the past three years with sales to the end of October approaching £18m.

Nic Wood (pictured), said: “This is an exciting deal for both parties and the acquisition has been a very natural progression.

“The Speratus Group consists of great units, in great locations and offer an opportunity to further enhance efficiencies whilst minimising operational changes as the businesses are already so closely aligned.

“We are now an independent pub company of 21 sites across Scotland.”

Signature has two other large projects in the pipeline as well as further refurbishments planned on the back of this deal.
