Flying the flag for gender equality: Virgin Money will have two women at the top
Virgin Money has become one of a rare breed of top companies run by both a female chief and executive and chairman.
The FTSE 350 listed company is due to confirm the appointment of former HSBC executive Irene Dorner to chair the board.
Ms Dorner joins Virgin Money as chairman-elect and takes over from outgoing chairman Glen Moreno on 31 March.
Virgin Money said in October it was in talks to hire Ms Dorner, who will join Jayne-Anne Gadhia, CEO of the Edinburgh and Newcastle headquartered bank.
