Muckle hires McLaughlin for new office

Muckle Media, the PR and marketing agency, has appointed a senior figure to run a new Glasgow office and to lead the firm’s digital and social media offering.

Pauline McLaughlin, who was formerly director of digital agency Equator’s PR and social media division, adds to Muckle’s 19 staff in Edinburgh and Inverness. It acquired Platform PR in 2015.

Ms McLaughlin will help grow fee income to £2.8 million by 2020 and grow the digital and creative teams at the agency.

Nathalie Agnew, managing director, said: “Pauline’s experience, drive and ambition is a great fit for Muckle Media.

“Launching in Glasgow has been in our sights for several years so we’re very excited to be opening in Scotland’s largest city. We already have some exciting opportunities from the Glasgow office.”

Mr McLaughlin who has almost 20 years’ journalism, PR and social media experience, was formerly a staff reporter at the Scottish Daily Mail and held senior posts with Beattie Group in Manchester and Glasgow.

She said: “Having been in a purely digital environment for the past five years I am looking forward to taking what I’ve learned back to my PR and communication roots and helping Nathalie build a full service offering that competes at the highest level.

“The agency scene is an exciting and competitive environment at the moment and I believe the new Glasgow office and Muckle Media as a whole is well placed to take advantage of the opportunities that creates.”

Joining Muckle Media’s Edinburgh office as account director is Rachel Finlay from PA Consulting in London. Ellie Wagstaff has been promoted to senior account manager and Eilidh Marshall to digital account manager.
