Two partners for law firm

Finlayson in switch to Addleshaw Goddard

Lorna FinlaysonAddleshaw Goddard has boosted its financial regulation service, adding two partners to make its six-strong team one of the largest in the UK.  

Lorna Finlayson (pictured) will be based in Edinburgh after switching from Burness Paull where she has been head of the financial services regulatory practice. Consumer finance specialist Clare Hughes will be joining the firm in London from Eversheds.

Ms Finlayson brings more than 25 years’ experience of advising a diverse portfolio of businesses on all aspects of product and process compliance, as well as related commercial contracts.  

Prior to joining Burness Paull, she worked with Weil Gotshal & Manges in the City of London, and before that, was company secretary at Direct Line Financial Services.

Ms Hughes, a barrister, previously worked as a specialist consumer lawyer at the Office of Fair Trading, and also with the team at Addleshaw Goddard.

The financial services sector is Addleshaw Goddard’s largest single market sector.
