Retail park set for £3.5m upgrade

A larger Next store is scheduled to open in early 2019.

Work is to begin next month on a £3.5 million facelift to Almondvale West Retail Park in Livingston.

The upgrade programme, which will be carried out by Maxi Construction, will include new shopfronts, cladding and pavements as well as new wayfinding, while car parks will also be resurfaced.

There was further good news for shoppers with retailer Next announcing it is to open a new, larger store in the park, which is located adjacent to one of Scotland’s largest covered shopping malls, The Centre.

Next is moving from its position in The Centre and the new facility will be more than double its current size. Doors are scheduled to open for business in early 2019. It is hoped that up to 50 jobs will be created by both projects.
