Investment into city centre

German tech firm acquires Edinburgh office

One St Andrew Square: close to new developments

A German technology company has taken the top floor of One St Andrew Square in Edinburgh.

The acquisition of 3,813 sq ft was handled by Shepherd Chartered Surveyors on behalf of Berlin-headquartered KPV Lab.

Steven Clarke, commercial agency surveyor at Shepherd, said: “One St Andrew Square was an instant front runner for our client upon viewing; perhaps unsurprising given the prime location of the newly developed south side of St Andrew Square and the imminent St James development.”

He added: “Edinburgh is fast becoming a hub for tech companies in the UK and Europe, with the industry dominating 2017 office space transactions.

“With further prime office developments under construction, we expect this trend to continue over the coming years, consolidating Edinburgh as a major European tech destination for occupiers.”

Tom Beddard, director of KPV Lab Edinburgh, said: “It was the classic character of the exterior combined with the uniquely modern personality of the interior that really attracted us to One St Andrew Square.

“The space suitably complements our other offices in Berlin and Munich and will allow us to properly participate in the thriving tech scene in Edinburgh.”
