Xavier Rolet is stepping down as chief executive of the London Stock Exchange

Mr Rolet has stepped down “at the board’s request”.

The LSE also announced that chairman Donald Brydon will not stand for re-election at the annual meeting.

“He and the board believe that at that point it would be in shareholders’ interests to have a new team at the helm to steer the future progress of the company,” the LSE told investors.
