Tag team: Craig and Laura Davidson LA-bound
A husband-and-wife team behind a Scottish digital advertising firm are to open an office in Los Angeles.
Tag Digital, a pay-per-click agency specialising in the global events and publishing sector, was established in Milngavie in 2011 by Craig and Laura Davidson.
The company, which has offices in Glasgow and London, is on track to post a turnover in excess of £2 million next year, and £6m by 2019 year-end.
The team now runs campaigns in 46 countries, with major clients including New Scientist, Dubai World Trade Centre, GES, UBM Plc. and Shortlist Media, in various locations across North America, Europe and the Middle East.
With exporting a key part of their growth strategy, several large-scale projects have been secured for next year in New York, Texas, Philadelphia and Dubai. They will conclude 2017 with a scouting mission to California to expand their existing client base in the US west coast and look for premises.
The firm has been named as one of 20 businesses on the inaugural Scale Up Scotland programme run by The Hunter Foundation & Entrepreneurial Scotland, designed to scale companies up to £50m turnover.
Tag successfully completed a rigorous selection process designed to challenge their entrepreneurial mindset, growth aspirations, business model and what they can contribute to their peers.
Scale Programme Manager Ken Whipp said: “The leadership team at Tag Digital demonstrated a real potential and ambition to scale internationally together with the growth mindset critical to success.
“The programme will help place them on the global stage. By entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs we combine real expertise with the benefits of peer-to-peer learning and world class thought leadership.”
Ms Davidson said: “Deciding to specialise in events and publishing has been key for the business.
“We’re excited with how far the business has come, but this is only the beginning.
“Being accepted on the Scale Up Scotland programme gives us the opportunity to learn from Scotland’s business leaders at what is a crucial stage for our company. We’re proud to be listed among a group of promising Scottish entrepreneurs who share our ambition.”
Mr Davidson added: “Tag Digital continues to go from strength to strength. Our plans for the west coast of the United States in the final quarter of this year and the other work secured in the Middle East and US for 2018 will further extend our reach.
“Refining our offering to focus on PPC advertising has helped us to export our services to the world. This is something only six per cent of Scottish companies do. Scale Up Scotland will provide valuable direction as we take this exciting next step and continue to establish ourselves as a truly global business.”
The company, which also specialises in paid media across search, social and display social is a Google Premier Partner, a status achieved by just eight per cent of agencies worldwide.
Tag digital also works in partnership with key stakeholders in the event industry, such as Event Tech Live and Global Conference Network, allowing them to be positioned well within that field.
