Firm confirms CEO departure

No word from LAW on Wright’s successor

Jane WrightLaw At Work, the employment focused legal services firm, has given no update on whether it will replace chief executive Jane Wright after confirming that she has left the company.

In a brief statement accompanying year-end figures, LAW said Ms Wright (pictured) left in August “after leading seven years of substantial growth.”

Chairman Magnus Swanson added: “We wish Jane all the best in her future endeavours – and thank her for her inspirational leadership in a period which encompassed very substantial growth.”

Ms Wright joined LAW in April 2010 after a career in senior management which included spells at Diageo and GlaxoSmithKline. Her current status was not known.

LAW unveiled figures showing it posted a 9% increase in annual group turnover, helped by the acquisition of Square Circle HR.

The deal enhanced the employment law-focused firm’s human resources consultancy business.

LAW posted EBITDA of £370,000 on revenue of £2.54m for the year to the end of May.

The firm has continued to expand its client base across retail, education and third sector industries. It made five promotions made across the business.

Mr Swanson said: “We are very pleased that 2017/18 has got off to a flying start with the full impact of the combined businesses being realised.

“We have also noticed greater confidence amongst our clients in committing to new contracts and the amount of tribunal activity has also sharply grown. As a result, we anticipate double digit growth in our top line in 2017/18.”

The firm has 34 employees and more than 380 retained clients across a UK-wide client base, which range in size from five to more than 12,000 staff.
