New Savills roles for Timney and Cobban

Property agent Savills has appointed director Craig Timney (far left) as head of its Edinburgh office and David Cobban (also pictured) to the corresponding role in Glasgow.

Both take up their new positions from 1 January, working alongside Nick Penny, head of Savills in Scotland.

Mr Timney joined Savills in 2011 to head the Scottish valuation team from Edinburgh.

He succeeds Charles Dudgeon who has been at the helm of the Edinburgh business for the last 18 years and remains a senior director in the business, managing the UK Rural Agency Division. During this time the office has expanded from seven to 64 staff.

Mr Dudgeon said: “I joined Savills just after we opened in Edinburgh in 1982, and as head of office since 2000 I have had a wonderful run, taking us from a largely residential and rural practice in Charlotte Square to a thriving business with 13 disciplines in Wemyss Place.

“We have always given support to enthusiastic and entrepreneurial staff and I am delighted to be handing over a business that commands a Scottish market presence and progressive office environment that is second to none.”

Mr Timney added: “I am very proud and excited to be taking on the role as head of Edinburgh. We benefit from operating in an ever popular Capital city which continues to attract significant investment from home and abroad.”

In Glasgow, Mr Cobban will take over from Bruce Patrick, who has held the position since 2013 and is promoted to head the mixed-use and commercial development team in Scotland in 2016. Mr Patrick has been a member of the Glasgow office since 2000.

He said: “I take great pride in handing over the baton to David who, over his five years at Savills, has proved to be one of the most respected professionals in the market and a key team member in the office.

“I will continue to work alongside him and be on hand to assist him in his new role as head of office.  I have no doubt that he will continue to take the Savills brand forward in what is going to be a very exciting time, not only for Savills but the whole Scottish region.”

Mr Cobban added: “With over 100 members of staff, Glasgow is a major regional Savills office that has developed and expanded through Bruce’s hard work. I look forward to continuing this success.”
