Bon Accord descendant headlines event

Karen KnowlesThe great, great granddaughter of the Bon Accord founder, Karen Knowles, will be sharing insights into the relaunch of the famous brand when she addresses a conference next week.

The event is part of Global Entrepreneurship Week, an initiative aimed at inspiring entrepreneurial activity.

More than 2,000 visitors will attend a variety of workshops, training and networking events throughout Edinburgh and the Lothians.

The one-day conference on the 16 November at the City Chambers in Edinburgh will focus on showcasing businesses from around the region, including the relaunch of Bon Accord and the rise of entrepreneurship and social enterprises, which will be opened by Deputy Lord Provost, Joan Griffiths.

The keynote speaker at the conference will be Josiah Lockhart, outgoing CEO at Gorgie City Farm and incoming CEO at Firstport.

Also speaking are Lynn Mann, founder of Super Nature, Fiona Ogg, founder of Lead a Bright Future and Bill Lees, director of JBT FoodTech.

Ms Knowles said: “Relaunching the family Bon Accord business has been an incredible journey, which I’m delighted to be able to share at the Global Entrepreneurship Week Conference.”
