O'Carroll back on home ground

Veteran tax partner returns to EY Scotland

EY veteran Aidan O’Carroll has returned to Scotland after a decade spent working with the firm’s global clients.

After beginning his career with HMRC Mr O’Carroll joined EY as a senior tax manager in Glasgow, studying to become a chartered accountant in his spare time.

He was promoted to partner in 1990 and became tax managing partner for Scotland in 1997. He moved on to become the regional managing partner for Scotland and Northern Ireland in 1999.

Two years later he was appointed the UK&I Head of Tax before moving to join the global tax executive in 2006.

He said: “I am looking forward to working with Scotland’s many local businesses to address the challenges of growing their operations successfully in what is an increasingly complex and fast changing environment.”

Mark Harvey, EY senior partner, Scotland, said: “Our clients tell us that in the current uncertain times they are looking for broad business advisers who can support them through the myriad of complexities they face.”
