Key BBC Scotland channel editor quits

One of the senior figures preparing for BBC Scotland’s new digital channel has left the corporation just months after his appointment.

Ewan Angus (pictured) was tasked with a key role in developing the new channel as multi-platform commissioning editor.

Mr Angus has almost 30 years experience in broadcasting at the corporation in a career spanning comedy, drama, and sport.

He has been involved in commissioning or producing A History of ScotlandThe SchemeRiver CityStill Game and Limmy’s Show.

The new £30m channel will be launched in the Autumn next year and there will be an additional £20m a year for Scottish production focused on drama and factual programming as well as 80 jobs for journalists.
