Celtic head to Kazakhstan for play-off
Celtic will play Kazakhstani side Astana in the European Champions League play-off round.
Brendan Rodgers’ Scottish Champions played Astana in the competition last season, drawing 1-1 in Kazakhstan before winning the home leg 2-1.
He said: “We played them last year and qualified so we know what it is like out there; hotel, AstroTurf pitch, virtually the same players.
“It will be as tough as last year but we look forward to it and will be ready for it.”
It will mean another 8,000-mile round trip, with the prize of qualifying for the lucrative group stage.
The first leg will be played at Parkhead on 15 August, with the return fixture on 22 August.
