Shop launches in Glasgow
Jeans designer opens first retail outlet
A Glasgow designer who has created handmade jeans for customers around the world, including footballers and film stars, is opening his first retail outlet in Glasgow.
Robert Watson’s Rabbie Denim brand, will open its debut store in the Princes Square shopping centre next week, bringing his bespoke jeans to the high street for the first time.
He said: “I’m incredibly excited about this move into Princes Square and onto Glasgow’s famous Style Mile.
“I’m Glasgow born and bred so moving into Princes Square is really significant for me and the business. Until now we’d only taken orders online.
“The new store will be a special place for existing customers to be more involved in the process.”
The jeans, which are made by Rabbie Denim’s own technicians, are manufactured in the company’s factory, also located in Glasgow.
He added: “We also use other textiles including Harris tweed and tartan in our designs giving even more of a Scottish feel to them. My heritage is important to me as a designer so using them is one of my trademarks and I’m really proud to do so.”
Claire Wilkinson, marketing manager at Princes Square, said: “Many within the fashion world know Rabbie Denim already.”
