Champions League draw
Rodgers poised for Linfield test
Celtic have been handed a tie against either Northern Ireland champions Linfield or San Marino’s SP La Fiorita in the second qualifying round of the Champions League.
Brendan Rodgers’ treble winners, who were seeded in Group Three, will have the advantage of playing the first leg away from home with the return at Parkhead.
The first qualifying round first-leg ties will be on 27 or 28 June with the return legs on 4 or 5 July. The dates for the second qualifying round ties are 11/12 July and 18/19 July.
Rodgers has targeted qualification for the group stages for the second season running, Celtic having finished bottom of their section last time out after coming through the second and third qualifying rounds, and then the play-off round.
Luxembourg’s Progres Niederkorn will provide the opposition for Rangers on their return to Europe, with Pedro Caixinha’s side at home for the first leg of the Europa League first qualifying round.
St Johnstone will also be at home for the first leg of their tie against Trakai from Lithuania.
Matches will be played on 29 June and 6 July.
Aberdeen enter the competition in the second qualifying round.
