Water of Leith development
Waterside project to fill Canonmills site
Architecture firm Sheppard Robson has won planning consent for 180 homes on a brownfield site on the Water of Leith, Edinburgh.
The Canonmills Garden development for client Artisan REI involves four blocks set around a square.
The mix of apartments, maisonettes and townhouses includes a 25% provision for veteran and affordable homes.
The project incorporates a public pedestrian street, helping knit the development into its surroundings and also provide a connection through to the city centre.
Clive Wilding property director of Artisan, whose firm is involved in the New Waverleygate development off the Royal Mile, said: “At Artisan, we design our developments to create added value to users and the community.
“On this project, we think this will be achieved by the generous provision of landscaped amenity space, which received very positive feedback during the two public consultations for the scheme.”
