Trade body seeks chairman

Mather steps down from Homes for Scotland

Jim MatherTrade body Homes for Scotland is seeking a new chairman after announcing that Jim Mather is stepping down from the organisation with effect from its Annual General Meeting on 12 May.

The search for a successor is already under way and vice chairman (and past chairman) Doug McLeod, regional director, Scotland – Barratt Homes, will act as chairman on an interim basis.

Mr Mather, a former Scottish Government Enterprise Minister, took on the part-time role in May 2015. The organisation represents 200 organisations in the new-build industry.

HFS Chief Executive Nicola Barclay said: “Jim’s insight and experience has been invaluable in expanding our work in the critical area of public affairs and the Board and I wish him well for the future.”
