Graham to tackle early works at University hub

university of Glasgow hubJohn Graham (Holdings) has secured an enabling works deal on the first phase of the University of Glasgow’s estate expansion plan.

Work is set to start on site next month with demolition of the Maths and Statistics Building to make way for a new Learning and Teaching Hub.

Construction of the hub will be a separate contract. Multiplex will manage the £700m first phase over the next decade. It is understood to have been selected ahead of Lendlease.

More than 2,500 jobs will be created during construction of what ranks as the biggest education development in Scotland. It is a bigger public investment than was spent on the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
