The new multi-sport event will bring more than 3,000 athletes to the city and it will be broadcast to a potential audience of more than a billion TV viewers.
Andrew Muir (pictured), CEO of the Edinburgh company, said: “It is essential that events such as the European Championships have the right technology in place from the outset.
“The network needs to meet the demands and stresses that will be put on it by a large number of diverse users.”
The event takes place in August 2018 as part of the inaugural European Championships with athletes competing in six events across Scotland – cycling, aquatics, golf, gymnastics, rowing and triathlon.
A further 1,500 will compete in Berlin, which will host the athletics part of the event.
