Suburban offices to become apartments

Chesser HouseA 1970s office block in an Edinburgh suburb is to be transformed into 163 apartments.

Chesser House is an eight-storey building on Gorgie Road, and will add to the housing stock close to the city centre.

Regency Residential, the property and advisory firm, will develop the project in partnership with Intro Developments.

Edinburgh ranks in the global top 20 property investment index for the second consecutive quarter. and Rana Ashkar, business development manager at Regency Residential, said it was “a key development” for the company.

“Our proposals for Chesser House will not only provide the area with much needed modern accommodation with parking for those investing or wanting to do business in the area, but also help revitalise the whole community,” she said.

Regency Residential is backed by private Trusts and Funds and, as a result, does not require investor money as capital for any of the developments.  It has a property pipeline of 4,500 residential units.
