Growth across Scotland
Internet supplier raises £50k for expansion
Prestwick-based Internet Anywhere, which provides broadband connection services in remote areas, has increased its sales team from two to five to extend its reach into the north of Scotland and the Borders.
It has longer term plans to move into Cumbria and Yorkshire to allow the company to service more than 2,000 customers a year, compared with its current 350.
John Fitzgerald (pictured), a former telecoms engineer who launched the business in 2011, said there is a large and growing demand for its connectivity services, particularly in the renewables and construction sectors. He hopes to more than double the firm’s £500,000 turnover in the next 12 months.
Current clients include Cala Homes, Morrison Construction, McTaggart Construction, Luddon and SSE. Since July the company has provided internet connection to film-makers on Eden, a Channel 4 reality show in which 23 contestants are seeking to build a self-sufficient community away from modern technology at Ardnamurchan, mainland Scotland’s most westerly point.
“We’ve grown organically from a standing start without having to do much in the way of marketing or business development,” said Mr Fitzgerald.
