Reappointment for travel group
Colpitts secures national ballet tour plans
Colpitts’ Edinburgh-based European headquarters will manage all travel requirements for the group’s visit to Minneapolis and New York in April and will then provide support on a separate tour to California in May.
Scottish Ballet has become a regular visitor to the US, building a reputation there for staging innovative productions.
Its initial tour will begin in Minneapolis on 8 April where 12 members of the company will stage Matthew Bourne’s critically acclaimed Highland Fling. This will be followed by five nights in New York to perform Christopher Hampson’s Sinfonietta Giocosa, Christopher Bruce’s Ten Poems and Bryan Arias’ Motion of Displacement.
In May, 25 members of Scottish Ballet will bring the company’s multi award-winning production of A Streetcar Named Desire to the west coast of America, debuting at the University of California’s Zellerbach Hall in Berkeley before moving on to the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles for three nights. These performances mark the 70th anniversary year of Tennessee Williams’ Pulitzer Prize-winning play.
Amy Dolan, company manager / international tour producer of Scottish Ballet said: “We are delighted to continue our partnership with Colpitts on the upcoming US tours. They really understand the challenges that need to be managed when a national ballet company embarks on an international tour.”
