Performers unveiled for TRNSMT
Radiohead among headliners at Glasgow festival
Radiohead, Kasabian and Biffy Clyro are the headline acts at the TRNSMT Festival which will replace T in the Park this year.
The regular event is taking a break after three deaths and 54 arrests last year, as well as issues with traffic management at the site at Strathallan Castle.
TRNSMT will take place on Glasgow Green from 7-9 July, the traditional dates associated with T in the Park which launched in 1994 and moved venue a number of times.
Unlike T in the Park the TRNSMT music festival will not be a mud fest. It will be aimed at a more mature, discerning audience with promoters touting hotel rooms to replace the chaos of camping.
Organisers are offering a more grown up sedate experience with revellers encouraged to book reliable accommodation in the city.
It’s an eclectic line-up catering to varied tastes from post punk sounds to folk and blues influences and crowd pleasing bands spanning generations of gig goers.
The line up looks like this:
Friday July 7: Radiohead, London Grammar, Belle and Sebastian, Rag n Bone Man.
Saturday July 8: Kasabian, Catfish and the Bottlemen, George Ezra, The Kooks, Circa Waves
Sunday July 9: Biffy Clyro, The 1975, Two Door Cinema Club, Twin Atlantic, Blossoms.
More acts are expected to be announced in the run up to TRNSMT.
