Lady Mone’s new match is Glaswegian billionaire
Baroness Mone met the divorced father of four Doug Barrowman during a business deal in October. Mr Barrowman is said to have 50 businesses, six homes, 15 cars – including five Ferraris – two super-yachts and a private jet.
The lingerie tycoon recently broke up with a Barbados golfer Stefan Soroka, 49, who worked at the Sandy Lane resort. But they split three months ago because of their busy schedules.
Ms Mone met Mr Barrowman while launching Social Superstore and he is now chairman. Its app allows users to make money by discovering, endorsing and sharing products from hundreds of brands.
His Knox Group empire covers financial services, tax planning, and the marine and aviation sectors. He employees 5,000 staff.
His personal portfolio is said to include a number of Picasso paintings, but he has also been known to support the less well off. A Prince’s Trust centre in Manchester is to be named after him after he made a £2 million donation.
His formed his first entrepreneurial venture at the age of 20 setting up paintball sites in Scotland.
Ms Mone split with husband Michael five years ago after he left her for Ultimo employee Samantha Bunn to whom he is now married. Ms Mone trashed his £100,000 Porsche, put laxatives in his drink and cut up his clothes.
