Cloud Global expands with ACS purchase

graeme-fraterAviation recruitment and leasing firm Cloud Global has acquired Perth-based ACS Aviation to expand its range of services.

Cloud Global, which operates from Glasgow airport, has built an international client base that includes 20 airlines from four continents in just six years.

Its acquisition of ACS Aviation adds private and commercial pilot training facilities in addition to engineering and maintenance services for private and commercial operators in Scotland.

ACS Aviation is the operator of Perth Airport which is also home to the Scottish Aero Club.

The terms of the deal were not disclosed. It will see Cloud Global use ACS’s expertise to maintain its fleet of 10 aircraft and provide opportunities to expand over the longer term.

The combined turnover of the two businesses is £3.5 million with the 16-strong team from ACS taking the total to 20.

Current ACS managing director, Allan Falconer, will be leaving the business to pursue other commercial opportunities.

He is succeeded by Cloud Global director, Graeme Frater, who said: “This is a very positive development for both businesses.

“We had been looking for an opportunity to expand and it was clear from our previous dealings with ACS that the company provided a very good fit with our business model.

“Our strategy of developing various divisions has proven very successful and this deal will allow us to explore new opportunities to add to our client list which includes such prestigious names as Emirates, Etihad Airways, Apollo Aviation Group and IAS Medical.

“There is a very high skilled team operating at ACS and we look forward to working with them to take the business forward.

“Although we will look to share information and skills, there are no plans to lose the company name or relocate any aspects of the business.”
