Senior staff in place for Courtyard launch

douglas-nawrot-and-libby-robertsonCourtyard Edinburgh, the new Marriott hotel close to the Playhouse theatre, Edinburgh, has made two senior appointments overseen by general manager Douglas Winfield.

Michael Nawrot joins as operations manager from Malmaison and Waldorf Astoria hotel groups, while Libby Robertson is appointed HR manager.

Mr Winfield said: “With an excellent senior team in place, we now need dedicated staff who will all play a key role in getting the hotel up and running.”

The 240 room-hotel in Baxter’s Place is a refurbished Georgian Terrace, developed by the Chris Stewart Group which is also responsible for the redevelopment of Advocates Close and The Registers

It is the third Courtyard hotel in Scotland and was home to Robert Stevenson, the lighthouse engineer and grandfather of ‘Treasure Island’ author Robert Louis Stevenson.

It will employ 100 staff and will be managed and operated by Redefine|BDL H.
