Rural setting planned
New village planned near university campus
Proposals for a new community adjacent to Heriot-Watt University at Riccarton have been lodged by livestock auctioneering business, H & H Group.
Riccarton Mains Village will provide 200 homes for residents and 200 flats for university students.
It will also go some way to addressing the shortfall in the City’s five-year housing land supply, delivering much-needed housing. It will include 25% affordable housing provision and university halls of residence
There will be a community centre, supermarket and a variety of services, including a potential new GP surgery.
H&H Group acquired the land as part of its takeover of John Swan & Son in October last year.
House design will respect the rural character of the area close to Heriot Watt Research Park.
