McGlashan takes new role at Marks & Clerk

graham-mcglashanMarks & Clerk, Scotland’s largest intellectual property firm, has appointed Dr Graham McGlashan as a partner to the business in its Glasgow office. 

A Chartered and European Patent Attorney, Mr McGlashan joined the business in 2003 after spending several years working on the development of new technologies within the semiconductor and energy fields.   

Dr Richard Gibbs, Glasgow office managing partner, said: “Graham’s appointment as a partner recognises the sterling contribution he has made. 

Dr Gibbs was appointed managing partner in the Glasgow office earlier this year.

Marks & Clerk was co-founded in 1887 by Scots inventor Sir Dugald Clerk and renowned engineer George Croydon Marks.

Its Scottish practice traces its roots (as Cruikshank & Fairweather) back to 1886, making it the oldest firm of patent attorneys in Scotland. The firm now employs more than 60 staff in Scotland.
