HIT (Scotland) was formed in 1994 by leaders from the hospitality industry to inspire individuals to be the best they can be. It promotes the ‘development of real people’ and supports emerging talent within this dynamic sector.

Since its inception, HIT (Scotland) has awarded more than 1,000 emerging talent scholarships and 10,000 bursaries. Emerging talent scholarship programmes range from exceptional local, national and international hands-on experiences, to places on courses at some of the world’s finest academic establishments, including The Cornell School of Hotel Administration and Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne.

HIT also works closely with Further and Higher educational institutions to encourage and source new talent for the industry by providing bursaries and places on a bespoke student course at Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne.

Bruce Stevenson said it is delighted to partner with HIT (Scotland) and as part of the partnership is offering exclusive benefits including a free review of its insurance requirements and arrangements without obligation.

It is also fully committed to HIT and has agreed to donate 20% of earnings from all business introduced to the charity. These funds will directly contribute towards providing scholarships, bursaries and other initiatives provided by HIT.

Founded in 1981, Bruce Stevenson is Scotland’s second largest insurance broker with offices in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Scottish Borders and the North East. The Chartered Insurance Institute granted Chartered Insurance Broker status to Bruce Stevenson in 2010, a title held by fewer than 100 brokers in the UK.

The firm was a founding member of the prestigious UNA Alliance, which represents twelve of the largest and most highly-respected independent regional insurance brokers throughout the UK.

Bruce Stevenson is highly committed to customer service, a commitment that has been recognised with a three-star Award from Customers in Service. Being a UNA member gives Bruce Stevenson increased negotiating power with insurers, as well as access to exclusive covers and policy wordings.

“This is our second year of sponsorship and we’re delighted to continue our support.  This is an important partnership for us as we have many services that directly support the hospitality industry.”

David Cochrane, chief executive of HIT (Scotland), added: “The support that Bruce Stevenson provides for the industry is immense. The relationship we have with its team is excellent.

“We both share the same values in providing the best possible services for the industry through our shared goals. Bruce Stevenson has been very generous with its commitment to HIT Scotland and this has allowed us to provide more emerging talent scholarships this year.”
